International

The International Relations Department (DRI) is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the university¡¯s international cooperation policy in collaboration with the university¡¯s governing body and the Office of the President.

The DRI is responsible for the operational implementation of this policy in collaboration with the university¡¯s academic units, research units, other departments/services, and its partners.

To this end, it relies on cooperation agreements, the Erasmus+ program (300 Erasmus+ agreements and 145 non-Erasmus+ agreements), and the Arqus European University Alliance, of which it is a member.

Each university department has a Faculty International Office composed of an International Mobility Coordinator (CMI) and an International Mobility Assistant (AMI).

Erasmus+ at Lyon 1

The Erasmus+ program, funded by the European Commission, helps strengthen the European dimension of higher education and international cooperation.

Cooperation agreements

To promote student and staff mobility, Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University has established nearly 140 inter-university cooperation agreements, several dual-degree programs, and participates in the OREGON program (USA) and the ORA program (Ontario, Canada).

Understanding the Hidden Electrical Barrier at Solid¨CLiquid Interfaces

    • Press realease

Hydrogen is at the heart of the transition to carbon neutrality, serving as both an energy carrier and a reactant for green chemistry, and even a pathway to convert CO? into fuel. However, the large-scale production via electrolysis requires catalysts that are much more economical and efficient than those currently available. Just like many of the world¡¯s most critical energy technologies, such as next-generation batteries, hydrogen production depends on a single, invisible boundary: the place where a solid electrode meets a liquid. While this interface is the heart of the energy transition, it has remained notoriously difficult to describe, limiting our ability to design truly efficient and affordable materials. In the study "The role of the Helmholtz potential on electrocatalytic activity" published in Nature Communications, Ars¨¨ne Chemin and colleagues from the Institut Lumi¨¨re Mati¨¨re (Lyon 1 Universit¨¦ Claude Bernard / CNRS) and the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin have introduced a new theoretical framework connecting charge behaviour in solids and liquids, and demonstrate its implications for the production of hydrogen from water.
